Sapphic books you HAVE to add to your bookshelf

It is Pride Month! Over the past few months, I have discovered some amazing LGBTQ+ books, but today I want to focus on wlw books as they are my favourite. There are always sooo many gay book recommendations that one day I was like, "Wait, what about the lesbians and bisexual girls?" I quickly realised that I love wlw books more than anything else in this world. Here are some of my favourite sapphic books that everyone should read. 

She gets the Girl - Rachael Lippincott, Alyson Derrick

Let's start with my favourite. 

Alex Blackwood is a little bit headstrong, with a dash of chaos and a whole lot of flirt. She knows how to get the girl. Keeping her on the other hand…not so much. Molly Parker has everything in her life totally in control, except for her complete awkwardness with just about anyone besides her mom. She knows she’s in love with the impossibly cool Cora Myers. She just…hasn’t actually talked to her yet.

Alex and Molly don’t belong on the same planet, let alone the same college campus. But when Alex, fresh off a bad (but hopefully not permanent) breakup, discovers Molly’s hidden crush as their paths cross the night before classes start, they realize they might have a common interest after all. Because maybe if Alex volunteers to help Molly learn how to get her dream girl to fall for her, she can prove to her ex that she’s not a selfish flirt. That she’s ready for an actual commitment. And while Alex is the last person Molly would ever think she could trust, she can’t deny Alex knows what she’s doing with girls, unlike her.

As the two embark on their five-step plans to get their girls to fall for them, though, they both begin to wonder if maybe they’re the ones falling…for each other.

The Falling in Love Monatage - Ciara Smyth

High school nemeses fall in love in Kelly Quindlen's She Drives Me Crazy, a queer YA rom com perfect for fans of Becky Albertalli and Casey McQuiston. What happens when two high school nemeses fall in love? Seventeen-year-old Scottie Zajac can't catch a break. First there's the embarrassing loss to her ex-girlfriend in their first basketball game of the season, and then she gets into a fender bender with the worst possible person: her head cheerleader nemesis, Irene Abraham. Some Girls Do - Jennifer Dugan

Afterlove - Tanya Byrne

I loved this book, it was devastating. 

Ash Persaud is about to become a reaper in the afterlife, but she is determined to see her first love Poppy Morgan again, the only thing that separates them is death.

If you still recognise me - Cythia So

This is one of my favourite wlw books so far. 

Elsie has a crush on Ada, the only person in the world who truly understands her. Unfortunately, they've never met in real life and Ada lives an ocean away. But Elsie has decided it's now or never to tell Ada how she feels. That is, until her long-lost best friend Joan walks back into her life.

In a summer of repairing broken connections and building surprising new ones, Elsie realises that she isn't nearly as alone as she thought. But now she has a choice to make...

Count your lucky stars - Alexandria Bellefleur

I am currently reading this book, so I haven't finished it yet. But I absolutely love it. 

Margot Cooper doesn’t do relationships. She tried and it blew up in her face, so she’ll stick with casual hookups, thank you very much. But now her entire crew has found "the one" and she’s beginning to feel like a fifth wheel. And then fate (the heartless bitch) intervenes.
